Research

I officially work in the subfields of physics called Nuclear Physics (major umbrella term!), and I used to work in High-Energy Physics (or Particle Physics). I tangled in the nascent field of Neurophysics, which falls under the other major umbrella term of Biophysics.

My stint in particle physics was a wonderful experience; I got to work on something called Baryon Number-Violation involving Tau Leptons. Off the clock, I contributed to a "neurophysics" project entitled Hyperchaos in Neuron Lattices. (Want to know what these technical words mean? Consider contact-ing me!)

Presentation and dissemination of research is important to me. I presented at the American Physical Society three times: the first time was about proton decay, the next was symbolic regression applied to proton structure, and the third was and then neural networks applied to proton structure. I presented at the 2024 Huskey Graduate Research Exhibition about my work in proton decay.

From 2023-2025, I conducted what a "soft-experiment" known as [S]TEM [C]ommunication [P]ractice. What a time that was. It technically falls under the subfield of physics called Physics Education Research (PER). Nobody at my institution officially conducts PER, so I had to do this by myself! To explain more about what that entailed, I do plan to write a summary of it in the blog soon!

I do think the practice of research is important. So, I hope I can continue in scientific research going forward, specifically in research targeted at understanding the mammalian central nervous system or its immune system!
