About
Welcome to Aileea, my personal website. (Why "Aileea?" See home.) So, who am I? Currently, I'm a graduate student of physics. I work with neural networks to model various functions that describe the physics of subatomic particles (i.e. things smaller than the proton and the neutron). I am in the midst of transitioning to a biophysics research program, because I discovered that's really where my interests lie. (In the past, I worked in observational astronomy.)
Apart from physics, I think it is no less important to study and learn about us, meaning the human experience. While this spans everything from history, sociology, biology, psychology, neuroscience, and, yes, philosophy, I pay closest attention to the developments in cognitive psychology, the science of learning, (computational) neuroscience, and philosophy.
Finally, I stay up-to-date with the findings of exercise science (which covers a lot...) and physical therapy. These interests might sound divorced from much of the "hard science" fields above, but let us not take for granted our ability to physically navigate the world, nor the power of science to help us understand our bodily capabilities.
On this website, you can find some commentary about my time in academic research on the research page. You can find the really good stuff in the blog section. And, of course, feel free to contact me.
